Description
Stabilized Amboyna Burl Knife Handle Scale Single
Take your custom knife builds to the next level with this Stabilized Amboyna Burl Handle! Each piece has been carefully treated through a professional stabilizing process that enhances both durability and visual appeal.
Stabilized Singles are end cuts from stabilized blocks that were too skinny to cut into sets and too nice to toss. Great for smaller blades like our S105, inlays or non-bookmatched sets.
The stabilizing process involves submerging the wood in a liquid resin, then placing it in a vacuum chamber until all air is removed from the wood. This allows the resin to fully impregnate the wood’s grain. After soaking for an additional period, the scales are oven-cured to harden the resin, resulting in a tougher, longer-lasting handle material. Often, dye is added to the resin, creating vibrant depth and character that highlights the unique burl figure of the Amboyna.
No surprises here—the photos are of the exact item you’ll receive, so you know precisely what your project will look like before it begins.
