Description
These bits are titanium nitride (TiN) and titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) coated for the most wear resistance and longest life.They’re more heat resistant than high-speed steel to maintain their sharp edges longer when drilling hard materials. Jobbers’ length are the most common bits and have the rigidity and length required for most applications.
A split point keeps the bit centered without a pilot hole.
Not all drill bits are made the same! The bits you get from the big box stores are different from these. These are purchased from an industrial supply company and are intended for use on harder materials. When your big box bits don’t get through the steel, come back and buy one of these. You will see a difference. If you plan on drilling a lot of holes, invest in the long life bits, they will hold up to repeated use. Remember to use drilling paste or machine oil to keep the bit and the steel cool. Heat will ruin your bit and blade.
