What is blade lasering?

Blade Lasering is a process that permanently heat-treats an image into the surface of the steel, not just printed or painted on.

  • The blade surface is locally heated (often with a laser) to change the steel’s structure.
  • This creates a darkened, oxidized mark embedded in the metal.
  • The process is similar in principle to annealing (controlled heating), but here it’s used for marking, not softening the whole blade.

How it’s different from other markings

  • Not ink or paint → won’t peel or wash off
  • Not just surface etching → it’s more integrated into the metal
  • More durable than printing → resists wear and corrosion better
